Michelle Frei was appointed Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department for Chemistry and Applied Biosciences at ETH Zurich and the Frei Research Group will open its doors in summer 2024.

Our research focus lies at the interface of Chemistry and Biology. We are interested in developing chemical tools and molecular imaging approaches to investigate complex cellular processes via fluorescence microscopy. Using synthetic organic chemistry and protein engineering, the Frei Research Group will generate new sensing and perturbation tools which can be paired with advanced fluorescence microscopy such as super-resolution microscopy or fluorescence lifetime imaging.
